On September 29th at 5pm, families can join Mob City coaches at the Everett Skate Deck for our new season information session. Skaters who are new to Mob City that may be transferring from another league can bring their gear and be assessed by our coaches. Parents can expect a small presentation starting at 5:30pm. Skaters who have never skated before are welcome to join in the fun. There will be time to socialize and gather to kick off the new season! If your skater is unsure what skill level they are, please have them join us for this event so we can assess and identify where they best fit. We use the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA), standard levels to guide our placement process.
Skaters coming from other leagues may find Mob City to be a little different. We do not hold tryouts and skaters are not delegated to one team for the entire year. We sort our players by skill level, not age-so skaters have the opportunity to level up as they develop. Skaters are able to progress to more competitive play as they become ready for the challenge. Coaches are constantly assessing during practices and giving individualized feedback. For skaters interested in the highest level of play, we will decide on our charter by the JRDA deadline during the Spring.
Starting October 6th, skaters will attend practice during their new practice times. Goons will practice on Sundays 10am to 12pm. Punks will practice from 5pm to 7pm on Sundays and 5:30pm-7:30pm of Fridays. Misfits will practice from 7pm to 9pm on Sundays and share practice time with Punks from 5:30pm to 7:30pm on Fridays.
