Mob City Misfits are headed to Philly this week to compete in the Junior Roller Derby Association (JRDA) Championships. Walking into the competition ranked #5 in the world, Misfits will take on several teams with a hope to take home the Championship title. As a premier co-ed league, Mob City Misfits comprise of skaters from all over the pacific northwest and satellite skaters who have the skills and talents for Misfits, but don’t have access to an open division league with the caliber of the Mob City Misfits and their coaching staff.
Coached by former team USA skater, Cory Acklus, Jet City Bomber’s captain, Eva Derci, the legendary Metal Face Chaz, and MCM alum and Jet City Bomber, Bombshell-Mob City Misfits have the leadership to see them through what will undoubtedly be a tough tournament.
This is Mob City’s 5th appearance at the JRDA Championships. Skaters have put in high levels of dedication since October 2017 to prove themselves on the track. This season, Mob City has been undefeated for their 2017-2018 season coming out victors in bouts against Philadelphia Junior Roller Derby, California Mayhem, Emerald City Reservoir Dolls, The Rose Buds, Southside Revolution, and Cherry Bomb Brawlers. They have regular, friendly scrimmages with the Seattle Derby Brats Galaxy Girls (who are also making an appearance in the female only division at Champs).
Mob City is looking for help to raise funds for their trip across the country. If you are interested in making a donation, please go to our GoFundMe page and donate now!
